PGA JR. League

1/5

About PGA Jr. League

PGA Jr. League is a team-based golf program designed to introduce juniors to the game in a fun, social, and inclusive way. It’s run by the PGA of America and is one of the most popular programs for young golfers, focusing on teamwork, skill development, and enjoyment.  For more information, visit PGA Jr. League.

Key Features of PGA Jr. League

 Team-Based Format:

  • Juniors play on teams in a scramble format, promoting camaraderie and collaboration.
  • Matches are less competitive than traditional tournaments, allowing kids to learn in a supportive environment.

For Ages 17 and Under:

  • The program is divided into two divisions: 13U (ages 13 and under) and 17U (ages 14-17), ensuring all skill levels feel welcome.

Match Play Format:

  • Kids play 9-hole matches with partners, and each match is broken into 3-hole segments called “flags.” This creates multiple scoring opportunities, keeping matches exciting.

Guided by PGA Professionals:

  • Teams are coached and mentored by PGA and LPGA professionals, who help players develop skills, improve teamwork, and gain a deeper understanding of the game.

Inclusivity:

  • The program emphasizes accessibility, with no prior experience required. Boys and girls of all skill levels are welcome.

Seasonal Play:

  • Teams play in leagues during the spring, summer, and fall, with opportunities to compete at regional and national levels for advanced players.
